The short answer
Ask who will call, whether they are a law firm or a negotiator, and what written scope they will send. Check any license or registration they name in the state where the business sits. Walk away from anyone who asks for a bank login, promises a smaller daily debit, or will not put the fee in writing.
On this page
MCA debt relief company checks come before you share a week of bank activity. We do not rank or rate firms, so what follows is a way to judge any of them yourself, including the partner that calls you if you ask through this site.
Do you need a firm at all?
Not always. What to do when merchant cash advances take a daily debit starts with dated ACH lines and a call to the funder if you need a written payoff. A firm starts to make sense when more than one advance is pulling, a confession of judgment is in the file, or the disclosure does not match the contract.
We do not publish a private relief fee. Ask for one in writing.
Who is allowed to do the work
Licensing is local, and MCA relief is not one statewide license. New York's Commercial Finance Disclosure Law regulates providers of commercial financing, not every company that later talks about those contracts.
Texas Finance Code 398.053 requires a provider or commercial sales-based financing broker to register with the Office of Consumer Credit Commissioner before conducting that business in Texas. That registration is for funders and brokers. It is not, by itself, a relief-firm license.
California's DFPI commercial financing disclosure page explains the provider disclosure duty. Florida Statute 559.9615 gives the Attorney General exclusive enforcement of the commercial financing disclosure law and says there is no private right of action.
How to read an MCA disclosure in New York and California is the short version of the paper you should already have.
Questions to ask before you share the file
Ask these on the first call, and ask for the answers in writing.
- Are you a law firm, a negotiator, or a broker, and what is the business address?
- What license or registration do you hold in the state where this business sits, and what is the number?
- What written scope will I get, and which advances does it cover?
- What is the fee, what does it include, and when is it due?
- Will you ask me for a bank login, a remote-access tool, or a confession of judgment?
- What can you not do, and what result will you not promise?
Red flags
Each of these points back to a source, not to a review of a named company.
- They promise the weekday ACH will stop, or they name a remaining balance they have not seen in writing. No page we cite can support that promise. A Texas civil penalty under Finance Code 398.101 is $10,000 per violation of that chapter, which is an enforcement figure, not a private result. Texas Finance Code Chapter 398
- They ask you to sign a confession of judgment as part of the relief work. Texas 398.055 makes that clause void in a sales-based financing contract. Florida 55.05 makes a confession of judgment void. Florida Statute 55.05
- They will not put the fee or the scope in writing, or they will not name a business address you can check.
- They ask for a bank login or a remote-access tool before you have a written agreement.
- They say a state agency sent them, or that they can file for you at DFS, DFPI, OCCC, or the Florida Attorney General. Those offices publish rules. They do not send private relief firms.
- They treat an FTC refund check as proof they can recover money from your funder. The June 2026 Yellowstone Capital refund is a specific FTC case, not a private service.

Ask about the weekday ACH
A partner MCA relief firm can call about the weekday ACH you are seeing. Asking is free, and the call does not hire them.
